Veterans Housing Opportunity and Benefits Act Bill Provides New Help For Disabled Veterans
On June 15, 2007, President Bush signed the Veterans Housing Opportunity and Benefits Act of 2007 to help servicemembers and veterans with their housing and other benefit needs.
Legislation to amend title 38, United States Code, to provide adaptive housing assistance to disabled veterans residing temporarily in housing owned by a family member and to make direct housing loans to Native American veterans, make modifications to the Advisory Committee on Veterans Employment and Training within the Department of Labor, provide Life and Health Insurance coverage to certain veterans and their family members, and for other purposes.
Until this day, severely disabled veterans had to own their own homes to qualify for adapted housing grant assistance from VA (Veterans Affairs).
