Zero Lot Line
A house that is positioned near or on top of the lot boundary resulting in little or no space between houses.
Zero Percent Financing
A loan with no interest in the contract. The IRS imputes 10 percent for both borrower and lender.
Zero Rate Loan
Loan with large down payment and the balance being paid in equal periodic payments over a short period of time, with no interest charged. Usually offered by an eager seller.
Zoning
Local laws established to control the uses of land within a particular area. Zoning laws are used to separate residential land from areas of non-residential use, such as industry or businesses. Zoning ordinances include many provisions governing such things as type of structure, setbacks, lot size, and uses of a building.
