Annual Fees
A yearly fee you pay to a lender or credit card company for having a line of credit available such as a credit card or a home equity line of credit. The fee is charged to you regardless of whether you use the line of credit or not. Most issuers charge annual membership or participation fees ranging from 25 to 50 dollars, sometimes up to 100 dollars. Gold or Platinum cards often charge up to 75 dollars and sometimes up to several hundred dollars. Not all credit cards have annual fees.
